Andrew Combs | Artist to Know
Singer/songwriter, Andrew Combs, is a warm blanket reminding us of the best parts of country music. His music isn't something you can compare to the pop music of modern Nashville, but something with roots more in the Kris Kristofferson era of songwriting.
To be clear, he reminds us of when men use to be heartbroken, and instead of posting on social media, drank a bottle of whiskey and wrote a song with lines like,
"Loves just a drug that will throw you around, going up aint worth, coming down". Runnin' You Out of My Mind / Album: Worried Man
His 2012 album Worried Man is a "no skipper" for us. It's rare, and always has been, to come across an album where every song brings you in and makes you hold on to them as much as the song that brought you to the album. "Too Stoned to Cry" was the song that brought us to that album, but every other song hooked us just as much.
His most recent release is a single called "Part Time Lovers (Full Time Fools)" which may be his strongest song to date. About young lovers and a broken relationship, it's not a song we haven't heard before, but it's been a while since we've heard it done this well.
